.......enjoying art together.........
Summer's here! Time to paint outside!
Our En Plein Air programme starts in May so let's all get out there and enjoy painting together. This year we've chosen some of the most wonderful venues in and around the Cotswolds, from Cotswold Lavender to beautiful public and private gardens.
Dates are: 7 May, 3 June, early July (date to be decided), 5 August, 3 September. Please see your newsletter for individual venues.
We meet at 10 am at each of our venues, and stay until about 4. Bring what you need for painting or sketching, and a picnic which we generally eat together at lunch time. To thank our hosts, we take a collection during the day for their chosen charity. Please let Jane Few know if you are coming a day or so beforehand so that we can give numbers to our hosts. Do feel free to bring a friend, if you like!
Special treat! Picnic in the Park! 22 July from 10am
We're trying a different venue for our Summer Lunch this year - the park at Pittville, where we enjoy our lunch AND paint. Meet at the Pump Room from 10am to go painting or from 12 noon for lunch.
Jill Blower has kindly offered to organise everyone and has already put a notice in the studio for you to sign up. Again, feel free to bring a friend!
Cheltenham Art Club is currently thriving with nearly 200 members, making us one of the largest and most active art clubs in the country.
Membership is open to adults of all ages and abilities. Anyone who has an interest in art is welcome to join.
Standards range from basic drawing skills to members who regularly exhibit at The Royal West of England Show and London galleries. Many new members haven’t picked up a paint brush since their schooldays.
The club will be presenting an acrylic painting demonstration, given by artist Jackie Garner, on Saturday 7th February 2015. The venue is The Studio, Townsend Street and the demonstration will commence at 2.30pm until 4.30pm. Entry will cost just £5. All are welcome.
