As well as regular activities, the club organises a wide range of events, including talks, demos, exhibitions of members' work and social gatherings.

An 8 week course on Tuesday afternoons, 2-4pm, 8 May - 26 June

Course Fee: £100
Explore the pleasure of observing and recording your surroundings in the beautiful setting of Pitville Park, Cheltenham. The majority of the sessions will be held outside at the park; however, if the British weather brings rain, we shall retreat to the Cheltenham Art Club studio and continue drawing and painting there.
Some sessions will also be held in the Art Studio when we are developing our studies with oil and acrylic paints. Ideal for both beginners and more experienced artists wishing to refresh and develop their skills.
Week 1 Selecting a viewpoint, composition, horizon and leading lines.
Week 2 Measuring techniques.
Week 3 Observations of light and shadow.
Week 4 Experimenting with mark-making to record textures.
Week 5 Colour in the landscape.
Week 6 Using colour, composition and tonal values to create focal points.
Week 7 Selecting and developing initial studies.
Week 8 Developing initial studies further.
